Jinko 440w Tiger vs Jinko 370w N Type vs Jinko 370W Cheetah

First of all, congrats on looking into Jinko solar panels. They are one of the best solar panels you can buy on the Australian market right now. Even worldwide, they are booming… They were our top seller last year and I think they will make the top this year as well.

Before we go on, I just want to say that if you’re looking for a winner between these 3 then you’re not going to find it here. Simply because, I truly believe that each one of these solar modules by Jinko can be the winner for you and your home.

What do I mean by this?

Well, for someone who has a smaller budget, medium size roof and is looking for a fast return on investment then I would suggest that Jinko’s Cheetah 370w solar panel would suit your home a dream.

But, for another homeowner who has huge bills, a tricky shape roof and wants to make a big investment then I would suggest the Tiger series or N Type modules. This is because it would suit their home, and their requirements much better.

So really, I am going to compare all 3 of these Jinko solar panels so you can see which one is best suited for your home and your requirements. Of course, every homeowner is going to be different, there is no cookie cutter approach to solar. This is why consultations are so important

Here’s everything you need to know about Jinko’s Tiger 440w VS Jinko N Type 370w VS Jinko Cheetah 370w!

P.S If you want to learn more about Jinko you can read my full review here. If you’re interested in Jinko and looking for a proposal (not a quote… We specialise in bespoke solar designs) then you can get in touch and book a consultation with one of my Jinko specialists here

What Is The Difference Between Jinko Tiger Vs Jinko Cheetah?

Ok, so let’s firstly work out the difference between the Tiger series and the Cheetah series.

Firstly, I want to talk PRICE. Now, either way Jinko solar panels are extremely affordable, however Cheetah is seen as the more affordable of the two modules.

This is most likely because it is an older module and has been around for a while. When you compare this to other panels like LG you can see how much more affordable Jinko is (and how much quicker you can pay your system off). I’ve written a great comparison on Longi vs Jinko here if you want to read this as well.

Secondly, EFFICIENCY. Jinko’s modules are all roughly the same panel efficiency which is good. The industry average is around 20% which Jinko panels meet quite easily.

This will be down to the materials that they are made of. The Tiger series are predominately made from N Type cells whereas Cheetah modules are made from P Type cells.
Generally speaking, N Type is a better performance and the same technology LG and SunPower are using. I do also want to stress that the difference in efficiency is around 1% between them all.

Thirdly, WARRANTY. Now, there isn’t a big difference in the 3 solar panels. Jinko has paired its Tiger series with some industry leading warranties. The Tiger N Type 370w comes with a 20 year panel warranty. This towers over the Cheetah and Tigers 440w 12 year product warranty. There isn’t much difference in the performance warranty/guarantee.

Lastly, POPULARITY. Jinkos cheetah module is still the most popular solar panel they provide at the moment in time. I think because it’s been around so long, and it’s so reliable people already have a lot of trust in it. Additionally, it’s extremely affordable… It provides such a fast return on investment for homeowners that we just can’t get enough!

Which Jinko Solar Panel Module Is The Best?

This is kind of a trick question. The truth is (and the honest truth) is that each one of these solar panels will be the best for different homeowners. There are so many factors to take into consideration.

I would personally make this the last of my worries, Jinko are good panels regardless of the module. What I would make my biggest concern in the installer. You can have the best solar panels in the world but if you’ve got a crap install, it’s only going to last a year or two.

Going into a bit more detail about each solar panel, on paper it would seem the Tiger 370w series is the best for performance. However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider the Cheetah or the 440w series, because they might actually be better for you.

Here’s a small comparison for who these solar panel modules might suit best:

Jinko Cheetah

Fast ROI
Plan to move home in future
Wants affordable solar solution
Medium-big roof with space
Looking to slash bills

Jinko Tiger

Longer investment 20+ yr warranties
Less risk
Bigger budget
Smaller roof and requires better use of space
Want to remove bills

What I Like About It...

Excellent solar panel that’s been made here especially for those homeowners who are looking to maximise the roof space they have available. You can really design a big system with the 440w Tigers as they are big in size.

They also come with a high conversion efficiency of 20.77% meaning you can get peace of mind knowing your system is going to be generating a fair whack of energy. Pretty good to see to be honest and I think the Tiger 440w is a strong contender in the industry.

Jinko N Type 370w solar panel

Jinko N Type 370w

What I Like About It...

I’d say the Jinko 370w N Type is my personal favourite… This is just in my opinion as well 😆. I love the fact it uses N type cells which are notoriously known for much higher performance. This means they are also backed by a much better 20 year warranty.

Compare this between the 12 year from 440w and 370w Cheetah and it does make a big difference. I’d say this panel is going to be best for those who are looking for a lifetime return on investment. It’s also backed by a strong 30 year performance warranty which suggests this as well.

20 Year Panel Warranty
30 Year Performance Warranty

Jinko Cheetah 370w

What I Like About It...

The Jinko 370w Cheetah series has always been so popular in Australia. Actually, worldwide in fact. I think it’s because it’s a strong all rounder solar panel. This means it does a pretty good job at suiting basically everyone.

Not only this, but the Cheetah series are quite affordable and come with a fast payback period. So, for those who are looking to get a quick and big return from solar then these solar panels might just be the best answer for you.

Why Understand Your Requirements Is More Important Than Choosing "The Best" Solar Panel...

The trouble these days is that everyone wants the best product, however when it comes to solar this is a grey area. Let me explain more and hopefully you’ll realise why going for the ‘best’ might not matter as much as you think.

First of all, let me just say this. All 3 of these solar panels above are fantastic, and I would recommend all of them to my friends and family, so you honestly can’t go wrong with any of these Jinko panels.

However, what is more important is getting the right solar panel for your home based on your needs.

What I’m trying to say is, that a jinko cheetah won’t be the best option for someone who has huge bills, a big family and uses energy both day and night. It would probably lead to the wrong solar design and wouldn’t get the most energy from a system for your budget.

On the other hand, a Jinko cheetah might work perfectly for a homeowner who doesn’t use energy at night, is older and doesn’t have kids around. Vise versa, Tiger panels could lead to wasted energy if they installed these and were generating more energy than they can use (plus a solar export limit could waste this energy).

The point I’m trying to make is that all three of these solar panels are good. They have passed tests, they have been approved by Aussie requirements and they are Tier 1 solar panels. They are ALL a great option.

The issue is finding someone who can help you design the right system for your home, and then choose the right solar panel based on your needs, roof, energy bill and budget.

Still To This Day, These Panels Are Some Of Our Best Sellers…

Impressively enough, I thought I’d update this blog to let you all know that even 2 years on these 3 panels are still up there with some of the best selling panels. This goes to show just how popular each 3 are, and I suppose it shows me how they could just be as good as each other?

It’s also safe to say that Jinko has kept up with the big dogs like Sunpower solar panels. Since they dominated the industry with their 40 year warranty, it doesn’t seem to have affected Jinko too much.

Again, I’d say this confirms how good these panels really are and shows their reliability for homeowners. If they were crap, no one would buy them.

Overall, this information should give you a little insight into the strong future of Jinko panels ensuring they are going to be around for a long time and maintain their position and an industry leading solar panel, which is what we want.

Which One Is Best For Your Home?

Honestly, all 3 of these solar panels will be a great fix for your home. Like I said before, it all really depends on your home and your requirements for solar. What you should really be focusing on is finding a fantastic installer.

Here’s my guide on good and bad solar installation so you can see what to avoid and what is good.

I also want to highly recommend Jinko, they are a fantastic solar panel and are one of our best sellers. You can’t go wrong installing any of these solar panels on your home.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below, which module is your favourite? Or which one are you going for? 😁
